After 32 years as a secretary, and at a time when most respectable ladies were taking up crochet, Jan Jack started performing naughty poetry on the stage.  One year later she founded Basingstoke Comedy Club Laughter-House, and a year after that, left the world of coffee machines and paperclips for good.
Her first book ‘Muffs Chuffs & Nonsense (Poems for Grown Ups)’ was published in 2008 and is now available in Kindle format.  Don’t click this link  if you’re easily shocked.   Jan has also written Animal Angst, also available in Kindle and as a book, from the gifts page.In 2009 Jan set up Perfect Verse and writes speeches for all occasions, specialising in weddings and in  2012 became a Theo Paphitis SBS winner.

As a comedian, Jan loves to use humour and is therefore now a sought after inspirational speaker; presenting at the prestigious March 2014 Belfast Telegraph Woman of the Year Awards.

In 2012 Jan started Stand Up Stand Out – Use Humour Win Business &  Go the Extra Smile workshops  where she shares her knowledge of writing humour, tailored for business use.

In 2013 Jan was asked by the BBC to be a mentor for their Comic Relief Stand up if you Dare project and was nominated for an North Hampshire Inspire Award for Best New Business.

So….anything to do with ‘funny’ and Jan is your lady.  Just don’t ask her to change a plug.

Jan Jack

I have been working with Jan to improve my comedy writing skills and to become funnier. I know the value of comedy in business, if you can make people laugh you set yourself apart. Jan is a comic genius, her writing techniques are so powerful and easy to apply and she is able to make comedy seem so easy that even non-funny people can do it. I cannot recommend Jan’s services highly enough. She is a true expert in the field of comedy, writing and entertainment.”
